The short version

Is there good nightlife in Jacksonville?

Yes, but it is spread out. Jacksonville’s bars run from Court Street and New Bridge Street downtown out along Gum Branch Road, Western Boulevard and Lejeune Boulevard, so going to more than one usually means somebody drives or you keep paying for rides.

That is why the Brew Loop exists. Every Friday and Saturday night, one shuttle runs a scheduled loop between 9 partner bars for a flat $20 seat. Pick your pickup, ride all night, and it brings you back to that same pickup at the end.
